RENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Everything you need to have in place before you pick up a trailer. Review this checklist before booking so your rental day goes smoothly.

All renters must meet the requirements below. These rules exist to keep you, your load, and other drivers safe on the road. If you have questions about any requirement, give us a call before booking.
DRIVER'S LICENCE
Valid Ontario (or Canadian) driver's licence
The licence must be current and not suspended. We will verify your licence at pickup.
Driver must be at least 21 years of age
No exceptions. The driver listed on the rental agreement must be 21 or older on the day of pickup.
Driver must be present at pickup
The person named on the rental agreement must be present to sign and complete the walkaround inspection.
TOW VEHICLE
Tow vehicle must be rated to safely tow the trailer's GVWR
The Miska Deluxe and Big Tex 70CH are rated at 7,000 lb GVWR. The 2026 Miska is rated at 10,400 lb GVWR. Your vehicle's tow rating must meet or exceed the trailer's GVWR.
2 5/16" ball mount hitch required
All three trailers use a 2 5/16" ball. We offer a hitch rental if you need one — confirm compatibility with your vehicle before booking.
Working electric brake controller installed in tow vehicle
All trailers are equipped with electric brakes. A functioning brake controller is mandatory — rentals will not proceed without one.
7-pin trailer wiring connector required
Required for trailer lights, electric brakes, and the breakaway kit. Adapters are not recommended for brake controller connections.
Vehicle and trailer combination must comply with Ontario weight limits
You are responsible for ensuring your loaded combination does not exceed provincial weight limits for the roads you plan to travel.
INSURANCE
Valid vehicle insurance on the tow vehicle
Your existing auto insurance policy must be current. Bring proof of insurance to pickup.
Insurance must cover trailer use
Most standard Ontario auto policies extend liability coverage to a rented trailer. Confirm with your insurer before your rental date if you are unsure.
Renter assumes liability for damage beyond normal wear and tear
You are responsible for any damage to the trailer that occurs during your rental period. The security deposit is held as coverage for this.
SECURITY DEPOSIT & PAYMENT
Refundable security deposit collected at pickup
$400 for the Miska Deluxe · $300 for the Big Tex 70CH · $500 for the 2026 Miska. Deposit is returned once the trailer is inspected and cleared at drop-off.
Credit card accepted — no cash deposit required
If you pay by credit card, no separate cash deposit is needed. A hold may be placed on your card for the deposit amount.
Rental fees are due at pickup
Full rental payment is collected at the time of pickup. We accept cash, e-transfer, and credit card.
RENTAL AGREEMENT & INSPECTION
Signed rental agreement required before departure
We will send you the rental agreement to review before your pickup date. You must sign it before the trailer leaves our property.
Completed walkaround inspection at pickup
You and a Divine Trailer Rentals team member will inspect the trailer together before departure, documenting its condition with photos. This protects both parties.
Trailer must be returned in the same condition
Normal wear is expected. Damage beyond that is the renter's responsibility and will be deducted from the security deposit.
Return by agreed date and time
Late returns may be subject to additional daily rental fees. Contact us before your return time if you need to extend.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
A refundable security deposit is held at pickup to cover any damage beyond normal wear and tear. The deposit is $400 for the Miska Deluxe, $300 for the Big Tex 70CH, and $500 for the 2026 Miska. We accept credit card — if you pay by credit card, no cash deposit is required. Your deposit is returned once the trailer is inspected and cleared at drop-off.
